While most were celebrating Independence Day with fireworks, family and grilled food, for Nicki Minaj, the day was marred by tragedy.

The Young Money rapper is mourning the loss of her cousin, who was killed last night in Brooklyn, New York. Clearly upset, she took to Twitter saying:

“Lived in Brooklyn his whole life. My precious cousin. My baby. Killed last nite.”

In a later tweet, she wrote:

“*My cousin Nicholas. Also goes by Juse, or @brolicalcoholic* Murdered. Last nite. Near his home. Brooklyn,NY.”

Before this morning, little was known on Nicki’s cousin or how the incident yesterday night occurred. New details have been release by The New York Daily News, which reported on how the 27-year-old was killed:

Nicholas Telemaque had just left C-PAC nightclub just blocks from his home when he was shot multiple times in his torso at E. 52nd St. and Farragut Road in East Flatbush about 2:40 a.m., cops and a relative said.

“It’s disgusting,” said cousin Roger Clarke, 41. “Young kids, they don’t value someone’s life.”

Telemaque, who has prior arrests for possession of marijuana and driving on a suspended license, died soon after he was taken to Kings County Hospital.

Condolences to Nicki and her family at this time as they mourn their loss.

Was that her blood sacrifice for fame and fortune…?

    • Tiffany W.

      What? Shut up…

    • justathought

@Tiffany W: I am not implying necessarily that she agreed to that sacrifice, however if you look at the history of several larger than life celebrities (especially in the music industry) you’ll find that several of them have encountered a series of unfortunate events…Just check it out on your own, RhiRhi with her encounter with Chris Brown, J. Hudson and her family, Beyonce made more of a martial contract with J-Z, other forms of contract are encounters with the law…I am not stating it as fact only a mere observation and something to make you think…and ponder…and yes feel free to try and shut me up it is only an opinion I can’t be shut up as I hope neither can or will you so I’d never as or tell you to do something so demeaning…please keep open the dialouge…

@justathought, while I respect your right to your opinion, you don’t know any of those people and to even assume to know the particulars of their private lives is kind of silly.I know that you didn’t state anything as fact but you talk like you know them. Those terrible things happened to J. Hudson and Rihanna because life is ugly sometimes and shit happens. It also happens to millions of non famous people every day. Nicki’s family member was just murdered so instead of being a conspiracy theorist, how about you just send your condolences.

@amanda, death is a part of life and life a part of death my father transitioned to the “other” side and I expressed no feelings of sympathy nor do I understand why folks grieve when someone dies. It is a part of life so instead of me sending “condolences” which I really don’t have I was just expressing a mere observation about how these celebrities chosen lifestyle could be interpreted as sacrificial, especially when the lifestyle they lead is they way it is (interpret that however you may). And trust me I assume nothing there is no assumption in my post at all just observing the series of events. If there is an assumption it is that you assume that I am a conspiracy theorist, or that these events are terrible…it’s life, some may even call it karma, things like this happen.

And before someone says that I am bitter and blah blah please don’t try to go there I am nothing more than a naturalist, realist and I see life and death as the same and you can’t have one without the other. How one dies or lives is all dependent on the other and how you lived your life your previous lives. I know this because I am aware of a few of my previous lives and how I lived….but that is a whole ‘nother story.

Plus what is the saying “You live by the sword….you die by the sword”
