Women nationwide are going back to their roots literally and the guru of natural hair care Isis Brantley is helping the trend. The “Natural Hair Parade and Festival” will take place September 3rd as Brantley celebrates 31 years of being a natural hair expert and a spokeswoman for black ancestral culture.
The event will take place on the streets of Dallas, Texas where the queen of neo-soul, Erykah Badu, will serve as speaker, sponsor and parade leader for the event.
Isis hopes the parade will bring in atleast 400 participants and to create buzz around what she calls her “labor of love,” she posted a video on PartyAficionado’s Youtube channel. In the clip, she introduces herself and invites both naturals and natural hair lovers out to participate in any way possible.
The event will come three months after Carol’s Daughter held a “Natural Hair Parade” in Los Angeles hosted by Jasmine Powers. As more of these events begin to pop up across the country, natural hair will make an even bigger impact than ever before.
If you live in the Dallas, Texas area, will you go to the Isis Brantley’s “Natural Hair Parade and Festival?” What do you think of natural hair parades?
