While launching her new fragrance, Pulse, on Wednesday Beyonce took a little time to talk with the Associated Press about her pregnancy (she hates the smell of onions), working nonstop (says passion fuels her), and her dreams of building her own empire.

Clearly, pregnancy hasn’t stopped Bey one bit. Since announcing she was pregnant at this year’s VMA’s, she’s been working nonstop promoting her fashion line at New York and London Fashion Week and launching her fragrance.

So what’s next on the menu for King B? She wants to be a mogul.

“I am starting my company, my label. I want to create a boy band. I want to continue to produce and do documentaries and music videos. I eventually want to start directing for other artists. Once I know that I have my stuff together and I trust that, I can do it for other artists. I see so many male artists building these empires and passing their knowledge on to other artists and development. I see myself doing the same thing and hopefully other younger artists when they grow up and they have been around for 15, 20 years, they can do the same thing.”

Making Bey’s Band? Hmm…I could see it. Check out an excerpt of Beyonce’s interview with the Associated  Press.

It’s pretty cool that she is so driven and that she can create new ventures for herself. I can’t do anything but respect that. She is a go getter and she likes to work hard and not waste a day of the life that she has been given. That’s a beautiful thing.

Having longevity in show business is something every artist wishes for, I never understand why people expect Beyonce to “sit down” because some want to “miss her.” There are millions more still actively listening, purchasing albums and buying out concerts around the world. Superstars of the past were celebrated for having careers that spanned decades… think Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Cher. Just turn the station if you’re bored of it, research some up-in-coming artists if you’re so vested. But if I were B I’d do the same thing, ride it until the wheels fall off. It’s like theses days people are anti “the superstar.” I just don’t get it. Just don’t patronize and live your life.

I’m tryna be a starra and she is messing ma flow…dat’s why she needs to sit down!

    • I got sense!

Agreed! I don’t understand people’s need to have her go away. I don’t like chocolate but I’m not advocating for it to go away. Really, like how mature. If you don’t like it don’t indulge. It’s really quite simple but as we all know the internet is just a place for people to vent and be mean and hateful towards others. I respect her hussle. She works very hard and wants to pass something on and have that legacy that men do. The same folks will complain about the lack of women/black women in power or executive positions in society (as running their own not working for someone else).
