As Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, several organizations have done their part in helping to educate, raise money and celebrate the survivors of the deadly disease.

On October 17, 2011 the first American Extension Brand, Indique Hair, teamed up with CancerCare, an organization that offers free, professional support for anyone affected by cancer, to host a day of pampering and makeovers for breast cancer survivors. The event took place at Indique Hair’s Soho Boutique.

Indique Hair invited 15 CancerCare patients out that day to have their wigs styled and makeup applied by celebrity hair and makeup artists. Lavette Slater, Gabrielle Corney, Kawanna Bain, Porsche Waldo, DJ Halston and Sarah Norwicki did their part in styling the hair while Ketta Vaughn of Ketta Vaughn Cosmetics, Cathiana Riguad and Porsche Cooper worked on makeup. In addition to the pampering day, Indique Hair also donated 140 lacefront wigs to CancerCare.

  • This is so awesome! CancerCare is a great organization. As a young breast cancer survivor, I certainly understand the value of feeling good about yourself when you’re going through treatments. Kudos to CancerCare and Indique Hair.
