Our favorite songstress and style maven, Estelle, is gracing Pynk Magazine’s Winter 2011 issue. Decked out in a leather cape with fur sleeves, a maroon crewneck sweater, oversized cocktail rings, statement hoop earrings and a coral lip, she is definitely giving us the perfect cold-weather look.

In the article, she touches on a number of subjects from getting back into the groove of songwriting, the difficulty of expressing her most painful emotions in her music, her love life and more. See excerpts from the interview below as well as video of Estelle on set.

On refocusing her life and career:

“I got back on the same page with my head and my heart. I just didn’t enjoy the music anymore so I turned everything around and started really paying attention to myself instead of listening to what everyone else was telling me [the album] should be. It just got real ridiculous for a while.”

On her love life:

“I’m dating. I’m having fun. I don’t think I want to be in a relationship just yet. I’m enjoying my absolute freedom and having fun looking at the boys. There are some good ones out there. I like cute ones — black, white, whatever — with kind eyes and a kind spirit. I like men who are about something, who have a whole career to themselves. Guys who don’t really have too many issues – or at least deal with their issues. Not the ones who drift around looking for someone to take care of them… I’ve had a couple of those and they’re not fun. ”

The cover looks more like a bad editorial.
2nd failed cover for Pynk (Lala’s was terrible too).
    Hopefully 3rd time’s a charm!

  • At first I didn’t like her single with Rick Ross, and now I love it. I think she’s an underrated artist.
