Tasha Smith, the brazen star of Tyler Perry’s hit film franchise Why Did I Get Married? snagged the December cover of Essence magazine.

Smith, who’s been grinding in the entertainment business for years, opens up about her faith, love, and how Tyler Perry (and healthy doses of hard work and determination) changed her life.

In the cover story, “Diary of a Happy Black Woman,” Smith tells Essence: All those years ago, I was a girl with this dream, but with no education, no confidence, no self-esteem, nothing. And now God has brought me to this place of destiny, and He’s not even done with me yet…”

Smith is gearing up for the November 25 premiere of her new show Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse in which she revives her popular character from Perry’s Why Did I Get Married.

They must be running out of people to put on mag, and I just love how ever since Essence has come under white management Owners now Editors the faces from Michelle Obama to Tasha Smith has been weirdly airbrushed to make them look younger than their age as if Black Women need any help in that department
So much for Black is Beautiful

  • I am not in the position to judge her but I like what she have said. That everything good that happens to her is Gods will and that God is too good to give us what we truly deserve. Yes, maybe she is far different with other super model cover of some magazine but I guess to be a model is not just with how we look physically but with what we are within.
