Everyone was raving about Octavia Spencer’s gorgeous custom-made lavender gown at the Golden Globes this award’s season and now designer Tadashi Shoji has turned the elegant silhouette into a wedding gown women can wear on their big day.
Tadashi said she decided to transform the gown from an ensemble to walk the red carpet in to one in which women can walk down the aisle after she received such positive responses following the Golden Globes. She told InStyle:
“I love the way the soft draping envelops the figure while the jewel embellishment adds sparkle for a bride’s big day.”
Brides will know they are in good hands with Tadoshi’s designs. The label also created The Help star’s Oscar gown and it took 10 people and 1,000 hours of work to create the beautiful dress, including one full day just to hand sew and hand bead each pleat on to the gown. Octavia’s Golden Globe-inspired wedding gown will be available Spring 2013.
