“Uncertainty is the only certainty there is, and knowing how to live with insecurity is the only security.” – John Allen Paulos.

In my 30+ years of life, I’ve learned a lot of life lessons. One that I’ve been taught over and over again is that nothing ever stays the same. No matter how much we may want it to be just like it is at this very moment, at any moment, life will have other plans.

While life has certainly pulled the rug out from under me more than a few times, one of the ways I’ve been able to adapt is to be flexible. If I were to stick rigidly to my plans or what I thought should have happened, I might have missed out on many of the things I love today.

Life is fluid and dynamic. It always changes and it’s always moving. So unless you want to continually be angry, frustrated, and upset, you have to relent to the changes and commit to being adaptable to any situation.

Go with the flow, Clutchettes.

Happy Thursday!

  • I was just talking about how hard this is for me yesterday! Even when I used to dance, my modern dance teacher would always tell me to make my movements more fluid. The sharp movements I could hit, but I always held back in the more “loose” movements. I said that to say it even took place in my everyday life. At times I can get so caught up in knowing all the facts and everything needing to be laid out in black and white that I make situations more difficult than they have to be.

Definitely working on going with the flow. Thanks for this!

My husband keeps me on track with this just about on a daily basis. He is truly that go with the flow guy, that’s one of the things that attracted me to him in the first place cause I can be a hot mess at times!! Taking on the “go with the flow” and accepting that change does in fact happen attitude has mellowed me out a whole hell of a lot as I coast towards my mis 40’s.
