Teyana Taylor fancies herself one of the first contemporary celebrities to embrace the tomboy trend, and her next endeavor falls right in line with her signature look. The G.O.O.D. Music artist revealed on Twitter that she is designing sneakers for Adidas. She tweeted the above photo along with the following caption:

“I looked down this morning and I was wearing a pair of kicks by me. #Blessed. adidas x Teyana Taylor 2.16.13.”

The high-top sneakers, which presumably hit stores on February 16, 2013, feature a bronze python-like print and lace-up sneakers in the back. The metallic hue, texture and lace-up back add a trendy, glamorous flair to the Adidas kicks.

What do you think of Teyana’s design preview, Clutchettes? Are you feeling it?

Ummm…she must not have been alive in the 90s when everybody was tomboying it up: Mary J Blige, SWV, Aaliyah, MC Lyte, Da Brat, to name a few…

(or am I THAT old that the 90s are no longer considered “contemporary?”)

Oh, forgive their youthful ignorance. I for one was a big fan of tomboy look in the 90s too which is why I LOVE these sneakers. These (well the eventual Chinatown knockoffs) and wedge sneakers are on my wish list!

Its a change from hair products, usually they (someone famous and black) just sticks there face on a box of dark and lovely creamy crack with a head full of weave pretending that they achieved that look from a tub full of £1.99 chemicals, so its a nice change but she should have actually designed them for my man instead cuz they look like they belong to him lol but blackwomen in business
    You go girl
