The Grammys Awards has tightened its dress code, and this year the CBS Standard and Practice committee is making sure that it’s strictly enforced.
According to Deadline, attendees appearing in the televised portion of the show have been issued with a wardrobe advisory.
“Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered,” the statement reads. “Thong-type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare, fleshy under-curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under-curvature of the breasts is also problematic.”
It adds that the genital region must be “adequately covered so that there is no visibly ‘puffy’ bare skin exposure” and “sheer, see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples,” is inappropriate.
Other banned clothing includes “commercial identification of brand-name products,” and the network requested that “any organized cause visibly spelled out on talent’s wardrobe be avoided.”
In call caps, the letter concludes, “OBSCENITY OR PARTIALLY SEEN OBSCENITY ON WARDROBE IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR BROADCAST.”
No one is pointing any fingers, but lets hope Jennifer Lopez, Pink, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga got the memo!
The 55th Annual Grammys is scheduled to air on CBS, Feb 10th 8/7c.
