Assata Shakur named to FBI terrorist list

It looks like the feds are feeling a bit nostalgic. According to NBC news, the FBI announced it was placing former Black Liberation Army member, Assata Shakur, on the list of most wanted terrorists for her alleged role in the 1973 killing of a New Jersey state trooper.

During today’s announcement, on the 40th anniversary of the Trooper Werner Foerster’s death, New Jersey officials in conjunction with the FBI announced the reward for Shakur’s capture was doubled to $2 million.

Shakur was convicted of killing Trooper Werner in 1973 during a traffic stop and was given a life sentence, but escaped from prison in 1973. Shakur later fled to Cuba in 1984 where she was granted political asylum and has been living ever since.

The FBI lists the details of Shakur’s alleged crimes on its site:

Joanne Chesimard is wanted for escaping from prison in Clinton, New Jersey, while serving a life sentence for murder. On May 2, 1973, Chesimard, who was part of a revolutionary extremist organization known as the Black Liberation Army, and two accomplices were stopped for a motor vehicle violation on the New Jersey Turnpike by two troopers with the New Jersey State Police. At the time, Chesimard was wanted for her involvement in several felonies, including bank robbery. Chesimard and her accomplices opened fire on the troopers. One trooper was wounded and the other was shot and killed execution-style at point-blank range. Chesimard fled the scene, but was subsequently apprehended. One of her accomplices was killed in the shoot-out and the other was also apprehended and remains in jail.

In 1977, Chesimard was found guilty of first degree murder, assault and battery of a police officer, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault with intent to kill, illegal possession of a weapon, and armed robbery. She was sentenced to life in prison. On November 2, 1979, Chesimard escaped from prison and lived underground before being located in Cuba in 1984. She is thought to currently still be living in Cuba.

The timing of this announcement is quite curious considering the recent terror attack in Boston. Although Shakur, now 65, is a convicted murderer and has been on the FBI’s most wanted list for decades, labeling her a terrorist now and placing her on a list that once included the likes of Osama bin Laden and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, seems extreme and has many wondering why the government has decided to upgrade her status.

After thirty-four years outside of the USA, what exactly is the threat to the general public that warrants most wanted status and a huge reward? Sequester or not, I guess there is always money for rounding up black people.

There’s that, and it’s always open season to kill black people. She allegedly killed one of the boys in blue and escaped/gamed the system? They want her head for sure.

“Our President” is the one who sanctioned this move by the FBI. The FBI is under the direction of the president. Makes you wonder about that vote we made for Obama.

If you don’t hear the whistle blowing, your ears aren’t open.

It should also be noted by White America that ALL African-American women are Assata Shakur. For black women in America, survival becomes a question of whether they will bow down, empty their heads, and minstrel as an angry, ignorant “Sheynikwa” for the ruling class, who can then more easily label, ridicule and control them, or commit the ultimate Black Woman crime: showing above-average intelligence, as Shakur has —

And be hunted like a dog until destroyed.

Until White America recognizes racism against blacks has not gone away but merely shifted from the now socially uncomfortable target of black men to the easier and still-sanctioned target of black women, there will be more Assata Shakurs, and we will not be at our personal best as a nation.

And remember, this is all being sanctioned by a Black President and a Black Attorney General (both Black men, by the way), one of whom deliberately chose NOT to make the first female hit-list victim a woman that looked like his mother, a white woman, and another who deliberately chose to make the first Black face on this list a Black woman, effectively shifting the specter of criminality off of Black men to Black women, even if the Black woman was a political protester during an era of state-sponsored terrorism against Black people.

I suggest that as a society, Black women start to reexamine their misplaced loyalties and start to recognize that we may just possibly have TWO big enemy groups against us in the U.S., one being historical racists and white supremacists , and the other being Black opportunists who would join group one and sell Black women down the river in the self-interest of escaping racism and moving away from the iron ball-and-chain of being “Black” in America, by any means necessary.

Look around you – the evidence is all around from the Black male media’s push towards “multiculturalism” (with non-black women only), and the mainstream government and media push shifting criminalization from Black men to Black women.
