Miguel Says “Black People Are Judgemental”

We’re not sure what crossed the “Adorn”  singer’s mind today, but he recently tweeted a few personal thoughts on how he feels about black people. Miguel, who is of African-American and Mexican descent, took to Twitter today to share his thoughts on black people and self-perception. He writes:

He followed with praise towards individuality.

What do you think of Miguel’s statements? Do you think he’s stating the truth or has he gone too far?

Brianne you made a really good point, I actually have not thought of it in that way before. BUT, I don’t think Miguel’s statements were out of line. While black people are definitely the most judged, they’re the same ones who would sit there and talk about a person right in front of their face OUT LOUD purposely trying to embarrass them, if a fellow black person doesn’t dress, speak or think like them then they’re automatically “acting white”, they don’t behave properly in public and when confronted about it they give you an attitude, and they’re always putting their own race down, constantly talking about their hair or how they look and they come up with these ridiculous terms like “ratchet”. How do you expect for other races to take us seriously and not be judgmental if we are judgmental of ourselves. Self-hate and lack of pride is a bad thing, it’s part of whats diluting the african american race. And addressing his statement that “we’ve been conditioned to hate ourselves”, that is very true. There are tons of black women who bleach their skin (don’t get me wrong asians and indians are obsessed with doing the same, but that’s a different topic) and its not only the bleaching, it is now a trend for black men to date any other race BESIDES their own and the excuses range from “they’re too fake” to they’e flat out ugly to “I would only date a black woman if she has the same skin tone as Beyonce, no darker”. That is B.S, what they want to say is that they are very insecure about their race and going out with someone of another race would make them feel less insecure.(of course that excludes the people who are honestly attracted to other races and want to explore)

If Miguel knew every African American, aka. Negro, aka. black person, on the planet and had come to this judgemental opinion as a result of conversations with each and every one of the people mentioned above, I might say maybe. As it stands Miguel has had not even a smattering of contact with that many black people and therefore is not qualified in the least to make such a stupid statement.
