Well, after teasing us with a mini-clip during the BET awards, one of our favorite ensemble casts return for “The Best Man Holiday,” the follow-up to the 1999 hit, “The Best Man.”
When we last left the crew, Lance (Morris Chestnut) and Mia (Monica Calhoun) had just jumped the broom despite the drama brought about by the publication of Harper’s (Taye Digg’s) book, Unfinished Business. After secrets were revealed, friendships were threatened and later minded, Harper popped the question to his boo Robin (Sanaa Latham).
Now, 15 years later, the entire clan reunites for the holidays and, despite being a merry time of the year, things are about to hit the fan yet again.
Here’s the synopsis for the sequel:
“When the college friends finally reunite over the Christmas holidays, 15 years after the first film, they will discover just how easy it is for long-forgotten rivalries and romances to be ignited.”
In a recent interview, Chestnut let it slip that the film will take filmgoers on an “emotional roller coaster,” and that playing Lance once again was “extremely challenging.”
Sounds like a winner to me. I just hope no one dies!
