Zoe Saldana and sister Cisely Saldana landed a first-look deal with Lionsgate Entertainment to develop content for Latino audiences through Pantelion Films, a Latino-focused Hollywood studio.

The deal was inked through the Saldana sisters’ production company, Saldana Productions, and it will include a television and film component.

The actress, who recently faced backlash when she was cast to play Nina Simone in her biopic, says of the deal: “We look forward to a fruitful and productive relationship with Pantelion.”

Are you looking forward to seeing the Latino-based content Zoe produces?

Great now y’all can stop complaining about her trying to steal everything African American

  • Southpaw

I thought she was black. She left that wagon quickly.

    • The Other Jess

She is Black. A Black/Afro-latino. There are plenty of non-Black Latinos, but Zoe is not one of them.

    • Dominicana!!

Race refers to a person’s physical appearance, such as skin color, eye color, hair color, bone/jaw structure etc. Ethnicity, on the other hand, relates to cultural factors such as nationality, culture, ancestry, language and beliefs. Please let us stop using one when referring to the other. I am a black woman just like Zoe, and I am Dominican, just like Zoe, and I hate it when people say things like, “I thought you were black…..”. Unless my skin in lily white, why would anyone make such a comment? At some point we need to stop being so ignorant of basic/common sense.
