Under the leadership of this dynamic and driven young person, EDEN BodyWorks has experienced tremendous growth with a rapidly expanding product and customer base. Her company, a certified women owned business, manufactures and distributes all natural hair and skin care products nationwide and internationally through her website. Jasmine is currently working on expanding her all natural hair and skin care products lines to meet the needs of her diverse multicultural customer base.

How did you launch your career and get to where you are today?
After having some troubles with my own hair I made my own natural hair care products. My career started when I decided to share the hair care products I made for myself with the world. I started selling in a few hair salons and online and now my products are available in many major retailers including Walmart, Walgreens and Sally Beauty Supply.

What have you had to sacrifice along the way, if anything?
The biggest sacrifices I’ve had to make were with my time. Trying to balance work, school, and relationships is always tough. It was particularly difficult in high school because no one could relate to being a business owner.

How do you define success?
I think that everyone has their own measure for success. My definition changes as my goals and challenges do. For me success has always been correlated to the the level of impact I was able to make with my company instead of just financial gain or notability. Making progress towards my company’s mission, creating effective products and supporting a culture in hair and body care the promotes positive self esteem is how I become successful.

How do you balance work and life?
I keep a really organized calendar that I share with key people in my life. I work hard but always make time for family and friends.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
The next five years have a lot of potential. EDEN BodyWorks has plenty of opportunities for expansion and growth and I am really looking forward to that. I also plan to pursue a masters degree and hopefully do a lot more traveling.

Who is your role model or mentor?
I look up to a lot of different people. What they all have in common is unwavering passion and dedication, they are joyful in all that they do and they are great leaders that know how to make tough decisions.

What advice do you give your fellow entrepreneurs?
To my fellow entrepreneurs my advice would be to keep your focus and surround yourself with like-minded people.
