photoThe Grammys are here and it looks like it might not be a total snooze-fest. Perhaps the thing that has everyone buzzing the most is that Jay-Z and Beyoncé are slated to perform.  “Drunk in Love” perhaps with a little “Yoncé/Parition” on the side? The internet might explode, but hey.

Another highly anticipated performance is Stevie Wonder with Pharrell and Daft Punk.  “Get Lucky” and anyone of Stevie Wonder’s vast catalog of music would be incredible.  Kendrick Lamar, Robin Thicke, Madonna, John Legend and over a dozen others will also be performing.

As far as categories, a few of them are particularly contentious or noteworthy. Sara Bareilles, Daft Punk, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and Taylor Swift are all vying for Album of the Year. A hip hop album hasn’t won Album of the Year since Outkast’s 2004 win for Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. Fun fact: Jay-Z has never been nominated for Album of the Year.  Rap Album of the Year is another story. Hov is nominated alongside Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Kanye West and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

The Best R & B album category has Faith Evans, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Chrisette Michele and TGT going head to head. Mack Wilds (formerly known as Tristian Wilds) got a surprise Grammy Nod in the Best Contemporary Urban Album category alongside Tamar Braxton, Fantasia, Rihanna and Salaam Remi.

Who are your picks to win? Who do you think will have the best performances?
