Oscar-nominated actress Quvenzhane Wallis has a tad more in her piggy bank than her fellow 10-year-olds. The Beasts of the Southern Wild star snagged the title role in the upcoming Annie remake and according to TMZ, Wallis is earning a big payday.
TMZ reports that Wallis’ contact includes the following:
— $750,000 base salary
— $750,000 bonus if the movie does well at the box office
— 5% of profits
— 5% of all merchandising
— 10% of sound track album royalties
Reportedly, the little lady’s contract also stipulates that her name will never be listed any lower than second on official promotional materials. She is starring in Annie alongside Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz.
Wallis has been wowing audiences on and off the camera with her charm, intelligence and giggles. Hopefully, she has a good support system in place so that she is able to enjoy her career and have money streaming in for years to come.
I got my first job at 14 years old. I was an “urban ranger” at a park in Detroit, which meant that I pruned trees, dug up weeds and did other landscape maintenance. I was paid a whopping $4.25 an hour, which was minimum wage at the time. Wallis is making a little bit more money for her acting roles than I did as an urban ranger. Just a little.
What was your first job and how much did you make?
