Zaire Holmes wins Juicy J's scholarship

When rapper Juicy J announced that he was giving away a $50,000 “twerking scholarship” to the person with the best video scores of hopefuls fired up their cameras and got to work. But while many shook what their mama gave them, 19-year-old Zaire Holmes carefully examined the fine print.

Holmes, a single mother and full-time biological sciences major, thoroughly read the contest rules which did not actually mandate twerking at all, but rather required entrants to “send a video telling [Juicy J] why [they] deserved a $50,000 scholarship.”

In her video entry Holmes enlisted the help of her professors and fellow classmates to help make the case for why she should win the scholarship. And it worked.

Despite initially calling the award a “twerking scholarship,” the former Three 6 Mafia member explained why he picked Holmes.

“Fifty-thousand is a lot of money. And I just don’t wanna waste it on some chick twerking her ass,” Juicy J said.

Holmes, who describes herself as an “exceedingly motivated, hardworking mom and student,” is currently attending the State College of Florida and plans to transfer to either the University of Florida or the University of South Florida to study medicine. We wish her luck!

  • he got a bunch of hopeful girl to twerk for him, and at the very end he didn’t “wanna waste it on some chick twerking her ass,”??

    that is messed up.
those girls got a camera and submitted videos of themselves twerking for a chance at a 50,000 dollar SCHOLARSHIP, and then they are viewed as a “waste”??
    \what an ass hat.

    • He’s an ass-hat bc they didn’t read?

He says in the video “you can’t just shake your ass and expect to get money” which is a good lesson to learn, in my opinion. If young people want to be taken seriously these days, they have to learn to read and pay attention.

I wonder what his motivations were when setting up the scholarship and including that fine print. Like ‘i wonder if any of these blankity blanks will actually read this” and laughing to himself.

I like how people are actually saying he is wrong for this. I hope they learned their lesson. Don’t be so quick to shake some ass and also, no matter what the circumstances ALWAYS read the fine print before signing something. I mean damn, who signs something without reading the fine print? I have never done that. It is foreign to me.
