Google recently announced YouTube paid channels that are available for their top-tier YouTube personalities. A YouTube paid channel is a channel that users pay a monthly or yearly subscription fee to watch its videos.

YouTube channel owners would be able to set their own subscription fees, which would then limit their videos to paid subscribers.

The subscription capabilities are limited to those YouTube channel owners with at least 10,000 subscribers. So it’s not like everyone will have a chance to offer their videos for a fee.

But who would actually subscribe to YouTube videos?

On one hand, there are a few YouTube channels that offer great content, like Black & Sexy TV, as well as Issa Rae’s channel. But I’m not quite sure that I’d pay money to see someone cover songs on their channel.

Clutchettes, would you pay to watch your favorite YouTube channel?

I mostly watch videos and listen to songs on Youtube. Most bloggers on youtube annoy me because they think they’re special or their opinion is needed. I haven’t gotten into watching shows on Youtube that are made especially for Youtube. While I would miss it if it would ever go, I would not and will not pay for it.
