Tamira Mobley, 28, is an unlicensed beautician who was charged Tuesday with killing Tamara Blaine, 22, with a botched butt-enhancement injection at a Manhattan hotel.

Allegedly, Mobley told Blaine she was a licensed cosmologist, but left the woman barely conscious on a bed in the Liberty Inn hotel. Blaine wasn’t Mobley’s first victim, but none of them met a fate like hers.

“The defendant was running a small business [and ] we expect to have more charges,” Assistant District Attorney David Drucker said, noting that the additional charges would not include homicide.

From NY Post:

In Blaine’s case, EMTs were called to the Meatpacking District hotel at around 12:30 p.m. the day she died and found her unresponsive.

Mobley was there, too, according to the criminal complaint. But she stuck around only long enough to tell responders that Blaine had suffered a seizure — then vanished. Mobley had booked the room for two hours, records show.

Blaine was taken to Roosevelt Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Her death was not ruled a homicide until October, with the medical examiner noting the puncture wounds in her buttocks.

An autopsy showed that Blaine died of the injection, which sent silicone into her veins, asphyxiating her and causing her to “lose consciousness very quickly.”

A subsequent probe into Blaine’s death revealed she and Mobley had exchanged several e-mails about the buttocks-enhancement procedure and had booked prior appointments in June 2012, September 2012 and February 2013, cops said.

Blaine paid Mobley “$500 to $800 on around six different occasions” for the illegally administered injections, according to a source.

Mobley — who lists herself as a contact for a “plastics and masks” company called Silikon Incorp — lured clients through a Web site, sources said. She had several e-mail addresses and at least three Web sites registered in her name, public records show.

When police arrested Mobley at her New Jersey home Monday, she admitted knowing Blaine but denied she’d given her any injection.

Mobley is currently being held on $100,000 bail on charges of manslaughter and felony assault.

The beauty industry thrives off of women’s discontent and unhappiness with themselves. They laud celebrities, singers, and models, who fit beauty ideals that exclude the average woman. Just like you have surgeons who capitalize off of economically well off women, you have illegal opportunists waiting to get their piece of pie. Education has little to do with it. Essence Magazine ran an article not long ago about a professional woman who lost her hands and legs due to illegal butt injections. She said that she knew better. The problem is desire. The desire to be beautiful according to a mainstream beauty standard. The reality is that society privileges people that fit into the beauty standard. Beyonce’s “Pretty Hurts” comes to my mind, but what does Beyonce truly know of this pain? She is making tons of money from her image, she is still praised and highly regarded for her beauty and talent, despite her haters. People see her, hear her, want to listen to her. But what about the average girls looking for a chance to shine, even just for a moment? Hey, my prayers go out to the victims family, but family let’s take a little time each day to remind our mother’s., sister’s, aunt’s, friends, god mother’s and especially our grand morher’s just how unique and beautiful they are, inside and out.

Ladies, why are you still doing things like this despite knowing the dangers? Don’t you know that a woman could have all the ass and boobs in the world and a man would still find a reason to leave her? Don’t do this to yourself for a man. Don’t do this for attention; and PLEASE don’t do it because some photoshopped image on a magazine tells you to. This is not worth your life. LOVE yourself.
