James-Larry-Cosby-Britney-Cosby-and-Crystal-Jackson-300x225Killing a child because one can’t accept her sexuality is never okay. But that appears to be the motive of James Larry Cosby, who was arrested late last week for the murder of his daughter, Britney Cosby, and her girlfriend, Crystal Jackson, according to a recent report.

Britney’s mother, Loranda McDonald, told KHOU Cosby was still angry that his daughter was in a relationship with another woman.

“He said it to me a few times that he did not like the idea of her being gay,” McDonald said.

James Larry Cosby’s grandmother, Annie Cosby, says something completely different. In fact, she says father and daughter shared a good relationship. “I never saw them having a misunderstanding or anything like that,” she told the Houston Chronicle.

Galveston County authorities grew suspicious of Cosby after his appearance at a candlelight vigil in Britney’s memory.

“When we went to the residence to talk to him, some of the things we saw there, increased and went further,” Sheriff Henry Trochesset said.

What tipped them off, what they observed at the home, or what events led to Britney and Jackson’s deaths are still unclear.

James Larry Cosby remains in Galveston County Jail on $500,000 bond.

The sad thing is, for him to know she was gay, she came out to him. She placed some trust in him, which from this vantage point seems to have been misguided, given the outcome.

But what sort of twisted logic is this? He couldn’t accept his daughter being gay so he kills her? His own flesh and blood!

And what did this evil act do but bring him and the family more grief?

    So sad.

This is really sad. Your kid is your kid. I don’t care how anti-lesbian that man is, he will spend the rest of his life sick over the fact he killed his own daughter.

Allegedly… killed his daughter and her girlfriend.

This story illustrates one of the many reasons youths are afraid of coming out or end up becoming runaways after a tumultuous coming out. I know we all want to believe that or family, especially our parents, love us unconditionally but sometimes the outcome can be so ugly.

If this is all true, what a sick, savage dude. You are not the lord of that girl’s life.
