A new video released by Islamist militants Boko Haram claims to show around 100 girls kidnapped from a school in Nigeria last month. The group’s leader, Abubakar Shekau, said they would be held until all imprisoned militants had been freed.
“These girls have become Muslims,” Shekau said in the 17-minute recording, according to the AFP’s translation. “We will never release them until after you release our brethren.”
If real the video is confirmed real, it’s the first sighting of the schoolgirls since they were captured on April 14 from the Chibok village.
