After 2015 Oscar nominations were announced showcasing the lack of diversity in this year’s nominations — meaning basically every nominee is white — the Twitter hashtag #OscarsSoWhite exploded on the net.

“Selma” picked up a nomination in the Best Film category, but the Academy’s snub of director Ava DuVernay and actor David Oyelowo lead many to give the awards a shocked side-eye.

Twitter launched the hashtag “#OscarsSoWhite to criticize not only this years lack of color but the overall history of the lack of diversity attached to the awards.

      Shockingly, the PRESIDENT of the Academy IS a Black woman! But of course she towed the line and said the Academy has no problem with diversity. Ok girl….

    There are boxes that Hollywood want to put black people in slaves. domestics and other roles of subservience,and Ava Duverney unapologetically said she didn’t intend to make a savior film. I got respect for her for that.
