Leah O’Brian, an Atlanta area teacher, was on her way to chaperone the prom at Lakeside High School when she was killed in a car accident after two students from her high school collided with her.

According to 11Alive, the Lakeside High School teacher was “considered one of the most beloved and respected teachers,” according to the school’s principal Jason Clyne.

Also injured in the accident was O’Brien’s 8-year-old daughter.

“She built that program up from a small, two or three kids interested in it, to a thriving program because of her energy and enthusiasm and her passion for education,” Clyne said. Clyne stated that grief counselors would be on hand at the school to talk to students.

The students involved in the accident were on their way to the prom as well, and were treated for minor injuries.

What a tragedy The good ones always seem to die. My heart goes out to her family, especially her 8 year old daughter. I hope she recovers from her injuries.

    • I agree with you Sister. We all send prayers and condolences to her friends and family. She had a gregarious personality. She loved to teach students and her smile was gorgeous. I hope that her daughter recovers as well.

      Amen, brutha truth!

    • Thank you Sister.

It is heartbreaking to see the images found in Baltimore. My uncle lived in Baltimore for a while. My grandmother lives in Baltimore including one aunt. She or my grandmother is almost 100 years old. People on my father’s side live to be a long time genetically. Many people on my father’s side live to be in their 90’s and beyond 100.
