Kelly Rowland has been spending much less time in the spotlight and more time being a mother to her adorable 7-moth-old son Titan lately, but she recently took a break from mommy duties to do a breathtaking photo shoot inspired by several style icons from the 80s music scene.
Channeling some of the most memorable looks from the likes of Diana Ross and Sade, as well as Nicaraguan beauty Bianca Jagger and Algerian actress Farida Khelfa Goude, Kelly teamed up with Mane Addicts to strike a few poses and share a few beauty secrets in the process.
When asked about her #1 hair necessity, she had this to say:
“I use silk scarf! It keeps my hair smooth when I’m sleeping. I also always use a good hair mask.”
Silk scarves and pillow cases have become staple items in black hair care and it turns out that Kelly has the same regime as the rest of us, ladies!
The Mane Addicts shoot was styled by celebrity stylist (and the new Mrs. Lance Gross) Rebecca Jefferson, with make up artist Rokael Lizama on hand to create her look for each set of shots.
Coveted celebrity hairstylist Kim Kimble, who is most known for keeping Beyonce’s mane in tact, made sure Kelly’s tresses flawlessly complimented the theme and captured the style of each icon.
