Supermodel Nykhor Paul has put makeup artists on blast.

The 25-year-old South Sudanese model, who has walked in shows such as Vivienne Westwood, Balenciaga and Rick Owens, took to Instagram on Monday, and aired her valid grievances when it comes to makeup artists who come to shows unprepared to do her makeup.

“Dear white people in the fashion world! Please don’t take this the wrong way but it’s time you people get your s–t right when it comes to our complexion!” the model began. “Why do I have to bring my own makeup to a professional show when all the other white girls don’t have to do anything but show up wtf!”

She also let artists know there are makeup companies that cater to darker skinned women.

“Don’t try to make me feel bad because I am blue black its 2015 go to MAC, Bobbi Brown, Makeup Forever, Iman Cosmetics, Black Opal, even Lancôme and Clinique carried them plus so much more. There’s so much options our there for dark skin tones today. A good makeup artist would come prepare and do there research before coming to work because often time you know what to expect especially at a show!

“Stop apologizing it’s insulting and disrespectful to me and my race it doesn’t help, seriously! Make an effort at least!” she wrote. “That goes for NYC, London, Milan, Paris and Cape Town plus everywhere else that have issues with black skin tones. Just because you only book a few of us doesn’t mean you have the right to make us look ratchet.”

She finished her rant by saying she’s fed up with the industry and wants to see change.

She concluded by saying she’s fed up with the racism in the fashion industry.

“I’m tired of complaining about not getting book as a black model and I’m definitely super tired of apologizing for my blackness!!!!” she said. “Fashion is art, art is never racist it should be inclusive of all not only white people, s–t we started fashion in Africa and you modernize and copy it! Why can’t we be part of fashion fully and equally?”

And then she dropped the mic.

Black models have it rough in the industry and you’d think makeup artists who were serious about their job would come prepared. I’m quite sure white models would scoff a the idea of having to bring their own makeup to shows and photoshoots.

Dear white people in the fashion world! Please don't take this the wrong way but it's time you people get your shit right when it comes to our complexion! Wow. She went off.

ETA: I hope she doesn’t get blackballed for this.

Well, I think the real point is that the makeup exists. It’s out there at MAC, Bobbi Brown, IMAN etc. The lack of diversity at the high fashion level is why these makeup artists freak out when someone with some color shows up to get her makeup done. Like 99 percent of the high fashion models out there are white so that’s the makeup that they bring with them to these shows. This all goes back to the racism within the industry that convinces designers that only a white girl can really sell their products in a way that will make other want to buy them. Once the industry gets over that nonsense, the Nykhors of the world will no longer have to bring their own makeup.
