Rihanna is gearing up for another silver screen takeover, having recently landed a role in the Sci Fi Epic “Valerian,” based on the French graphic novel series “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.” The film’s Director and Writer Luc Besson (The Fifth Element), announced the news on Wednesday saying he was “Sooo excited” for Rih’s “big” role.

Rihanna’s clearly no stranger to theaters of grandeur though. She previously starred in 2012’s “Battleship” and lent her voice to this year’s wildly successful animated flick “Home.” She also made cameo appearances in “Annie” and “This Is The End.
“Valerian” stars Dane DeHaan as the main character and model Cara Delevingne as his companion, Laureline. Together, the pair are time-traveling agents who protect Earth from extraterrestrial invaders in the 28th century. Rih’s role hasn’t been detailed yet but we’re excited for her nonetheless!
Production is scheduled to begin at the end of this year. Until then, Ms. Fenty has plenty to keep her busy, including the (hopefully soon) release of her eighth album, Anti, and an appearance on the upcoming Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
