I’ve been a fan of R&B singer Joe since he first burst on the scene in 1993 in his Karl Kani ‘fit singing about being in love. Since then, Joe’s churned out hits like  “I Wanna Know” and “All the Things,” while staying true to his R&B roots.

Lately, Joe’s been working on new music and releasing it independently, but his cover of Adele’s smash hit “Hello” is a reminder that he’s still one of the best in the game.

Accompanied by just a piano, Joe’s voice is haunting, clear, and beautiful…and it gives us all the feels.

Take a listen.

Joe, you are better than this pedestrian song. If you want to cover an incredible singer with depth, try Phyllis Hyman’s “Living in Confusion, or Why Not Me

Or try something by Joni Mitchell quite a songwriter and her lyrics easily convert to real soul singing..

Adele has a good enough voice but come on, this song is plodding and simple.

We are so much better than this. Think about Luther, think about Jill Scott. Leave this nonsense alone and stop falling for the hype.

You do not need Adele to get you where you want to be.

Agreed! I am a fan of Adele but “Hello” kind of worn off for me, maybe it is just me but I feel something is missing from the song maybe another verse or a rearrangement of the melody just something it sounds incomplete in a way. But Joe’s voice is still smooth and I can’t wait for him to drop some new music.

      HELLO for real!

I must’ve played this song at least 1000 times today. And loud. My neighbors may call the cops on me today.

It’s funny how it never really had my attention until I heard this version, the lyrics are suddenly alive, they make sense, so soulful. Joe adds emotion.

I’m in love with his version. Maybe it’s just refreshing to hear it from a man’s perspective. I mean which woman wouldn’t want to have that kind of effect on an ex even if you’d never take them back.

I like Adele but Joe took this to another level. It’s untouchable now that Joe has touched it.
