Bill Cosby is not going down without a fight. While 2015 found the comedian facing dozens of rape allegations from more than 30 women, the embattled legend is going on the offensive.
Monday, Cosby’s attorney, Monique Pressley, released a statement, detailing a countersuit the actor filed against seven women who’ve come forward to accuse Cosby of sexual assault.
According to the statement, Cosby is suing Therese Serignese, Linda Traitz, Louisa Moritz, Barbara Bowman, Joan Tarshis, and Angela Leslie for “defamation, tortious interference, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.”

In the letter, Pressley reiterates Cosby’s denial of the claims, and asks a Massachusetts federal court to award the comedian “compensatory and punitive damages” as well as direct the women to “publicly retract and correct their defamatory statements.”
