Fresh off his YouTube video admonishing Black fans for not supporting his music, R. Kelly decided to sit down with the Huffington Post Live to talk about his new album, The Buffet, and answer a few fan questions.
What could go wrong?
Even though R. Kelly has to know folks will continue to ask about his alleged penchant for having sex with underage girls, he agreed to the sit down interview…as long as the questions remained “positive.”
“I’m in New York, I’m having a great time, I’m finna go visit some friends, I’m finna do some more business, I’m finna have a great time,” he said. “I didn’t come here for you to spoil that.”
The 20-minute interview was contentious throughout with the whole thing coming to an abrupt end after Kelly was asked if he believed the multiple sex allegations levied against him affected his record sales.
“You can’t satisfy everybody,” Kelly said. “I will continue to do my job until I get fired, and the only people who can fire me are my fans.”
From the looks the Buffet’s record sales, which was projected to only sell about 28,000 copies during its first week, they already have.
