Weddings can be super expensive. Between buying the perfect dress, securing a dope venue, and feeding guests, getting hitched can easily cost couples tens of thousands of dollars. While many go into serious debt trying to pull of the perfect wedding, one Seattle-based startup is ready to give folks some free cash for their big day.
According to SwanLuv, “Everlasting marriage deserves to be rewarded,” and the company is giving couples up to $10,000 for their dream wedding.
The catch? While the gift comes free of charge, if couples get divorced they have to pay the money back…with interest.
Though some people will think SwanLuv is betting against marriage (or profiting from divorce), the startup says they’re really hoping couples mate for life, like the company’s namesake, the swan.
SwanLuv will dole out wedding cash for couples by using “100% of the money collected from members who are later divorced.”
The company hasn’t officially launched yet, but a handful of couples have already reaped the benefits.
