‘Who’s That? I Heard Some Crazy Lady Said Something’ — Gabrielle Union

Gabrielle Union, as like many other celebrities, is in Park City, Utah attending the Sundance Film Festival. On Monday night, during the premiere of Birth of a Nation, a reporter asked Union about Stacey Dash’s comments on BET and how it’s segregated.

Of course Union, known for her quick wit, had a few words to say about Dash.

“Who’s that? Who’s Stacey Dash? Is she like related to Dame Dash? Was she on Roc-A-Fella (Records)?” Union replied.

Union then went on to talk about the importance of award shows that are diverse, and not only shows like BET Awards or Image, but also the ALMA Awards and even the Country Music Awards. And she also called Dash crazy. Again.

“The more that we focus on inclusion and a true representation of this country, I think that crazy lady will have less to say,” Union said of Dash.

    She’s right about that.

  • Mary Burrell

Well she’s right about Dash being crazy.

  • Gabrielle Union’s wit and great, accurate words on this issue proves that inclusion matters, not post racial lies. We live in a society where it is necessary to show multiple award shows and people have the right to outline awards on a diversity of topics and subjects. Also, the tolerance of our diversity has nothing to do with segregation. It has to do with respecting the diverse cultural mosaic that exists in this country. Black culture is always transcendent and beautiful.

Gabrielle has such a great sense of humor. She pretty much summed up Stacey using those two words.

    • Yes. Her words were short and precise. Gabrielle made her points beautifully.
