Franchesca Ramsey, one of our favorite funny women, is moving on up to the big time.

The MTV Decoded star and avid YouTuber is joining Comedy Central’s The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore as a writer and contributor.

Ramsey will make her debut on Tuesday’s show, bringing her signature wit and intelligence to the Nighty Show team.

“We’re very excited to have Franchesca and her tremendous skill set join the show,” Wilmore said. “We were just going to hire her skill set, but we agreed to hire her as well. So it’s a win-win.”

Ramsey, who’s made a name for herself by hilariously calling attention to racism in online spaces, excitedly shared the news about her new position on Twitter.

We can’t wait to see her on TV!

Congrats on taking beyond Youtube and MTV, having Comedy Central seals the deal as being funny. Maybe this could lead to a sitcom, there are already several CC sitcoms with White leading women (Broad City is one I like). While Issa works on the HBO deal, Ms. Ramsey can work her way in here, we need to cover all bases, all channels. Oprah already made OWN. And if Stacey Dash gets her way, we can’t rely on BET, lol. Let’s keep the ball rolling.

Whoo-hoo! Talking about race and privilege is exhausting. She’s fighting the good fight and I’m glad it’s paying off.
