Former Jets running back Joe McKnight was shot and killed in what appears to be a road rage incident. According to a witness, McKnight was seen apologizing to another man who reportedly took out a gun and shot him while saying,“I told you don’t you f— with me,” before firing again.” The killer, Ronald Gasser, a 54-year-old white man, was released from custody hours after his arrest, and according to the Terrytown sheriff’s department, he has not yet been formerly charged in the shooting death. Many, including former teammates of McKnight, took to Twitter to express outrage over the decision to release Gasser.
“You can kill a man over road rage, hand in your gun to police, and walk away with no charges? Sounds about white,” one Twitter user commented.

We can only hope that justice will be served, but only time will tell the tale.
