A headless body has been found after the head of a young black man was discovered on the porch of a Jackson, Mississippi home.
A few hours later, a headless burned body was discovered less than a mile away, according to Jackson Police Cmdr. Tyree Jones. Both sets of remains are only identified as those of a young black male.
Residents told WJTV-12 that the body was found by a group of children in a wooded area.
Jackson police are waiting for the coroner and medical examiner to confirm whether the head and body belong to the same black male. “Due to the type of crime and the proximity of the body parts, we can assume perhaps this is the remains that were attached to the head,” Jackson Police Chief Lee Vance said.
Jackson Police have not determined the motive in the case as of yet. One resident said he believed the homicide was intended as a message.
Burned human torso, headless, found on Green Ave. near Grand Ave. Working to confirm if linked to this morning’s discovery of a human head.
